Want help putting together some moves for your first dance? We got you! Our standard wedding lesson packages are great for timelines of 3-12+ months and will leave you feeling READY for your first dance!

Event Choreography

Maybe you want your first dance completely choreographed for the most structure and showmanship, or maybe you are looking for a surprise dance for your whole wedding party to shock the room! We love a good performance-worthy number. Looking to integrate your entire bridal party in a choreographed dance? We can help make your grand entrance a big hit!

Parent Dances

Do you want to take some lessons for your Father-Daughter or Mother-Son dance? Great! We love parents too. Let us know when you are completing our quick questionnaire that you would like to include parent dances in your package as well!

Music Editing

Not looking to dance to your full 4-minute long song? Hoping your dance can be a medley of sorts with a combination of a few different songs? We are lucky to have teamed up with a professional music producer who works with us to get your song sounding just right for your dance!

What to Expect: Lessons, Packages, Budgets, and More

Whether you’re looking for a simple and elegant dance or a show-stopping number, we make recommendations based on the goals and needs of your dance as well as your timeline and learning curves. Packages start at 5 lessons for more simple dance goals and go up to 24 sessions for couples looking for wow-factor, medleys, and more. We understand that budget is a big topic of conversation during wedding planning, which is why we want to help you set your expectations. While we work with all couples to fit their specific budget and goals, our typical wedding services range between $90 and $200 per session.

  • Katie is an awesome dance teacher and we highly recommend signing up for lessons if you'd like to learn how to turn easy-to-learn movements into a beautifully choreographed dance for your wedding or special occasions!! Katie is GREAT at breaking down moves so they feel "right" to you. Simple changes like hand height or body angles can do wonders for making the moves feel more smooth. Also, during lessons, Katie is great at ensuring she captures videos on your devices so you can go back home and have a reference video when practicing in between lessons. If you're reading this review then you should probably just call up The First Dance Place and book your lesson; you won't be disappointed.

  • Katie was very kind and patient, she really took time with my partner who had essentially no dance experience to make sure he understood the steps in a way that made sense to him. She was able to cater the dance moves to our desires, some spins for the leading partner and easy, but beautiful for photographing, lifts. We also have to give a shout out to Merabel who was so communicative and helpful with scheduling our classes each month. My work shifts were sporadic at the time and she was able to help accommodate changes in our schedule.
